About
My name is Michael and I am a clinician, writer, educator, and researcher. For over ten years I have been practicing, writing, and teaching on the ethics and medicine of serious illness care. I have served on ethics committees, taught in the university classroom, edited clinical journals, and provided strategy in the digital health space. I am certified in internal medicine and hospice & palliative medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Israeli Medical Association. I believe that together we can build a more thoughtful and humane approach to decision-making in health and illness.
I started Nisá Advisors because of my experience serving those faced with the uncertainty of serious illness and care decisions. Nisá (pronounced ni-SÁ ) is from a Hebrew word meaning “we will journey.” It is meant to evoke a journey taken together, in partnership. My hope is to be of service to those facing such a journey. Whether you are curious about your own journey, the journey of a family member, or the journey of your patients and clients, I am eager to hear your story and provide direction.
